Fonott Collaboration

I have some really exciting news, that you may have seen over on Instagram already! I have been invited to do my first product collaboration with Fonott, an artisanal brand which sells bags based in the Netherlands.

I first came across the brand when a friend featured their iconic baskets on Instagram, just over a year ago. The Audrey bag was the first one I got my hands on, and you’ve probably seen Julie glued to my hands last summer, Hajni has a knack of designing bags that go with everything. Late last year she introduced The Pouch, and this century-old Japanese Furoshiki bag design transforms a piece of fabric into the cutest mini pouches, which attached to Fonott’s signature basket handles. It’s such a cool design, and surprising at how much you can squeeze in them! Over the past year I’ve got to know the founder Hajni who invited me to work on my very own pouch bag for her SS19 collection.

Of course my signature pouch had to include florals, but where to start with a floral print fabric?! I know florals can be a bit overwhelming, but I really wanted the pouch to be something that could be worn with lots of outfits, with this in mind I went for a neutral base. The pops of pink, orange and coral make me really happy, paired with the green. I’m continually inspired by natured, and in particular anything floral, I just cannot get over how bloody clever Mother Nature is.

What I love about Fonott and how Hajni runs things, is each step of the process has been broken down, including the cost of the materials, labour, packing and shipping, you can find all this information on her pinned stories over on Instagram. It’s really lovely to work with a company who do this for you, and share it with their audience, I hope we see more transparency costing in the future.

Anyway, that’s enough from me, I hope you like the pouch, and don’t forget to take a look at the second design by the marvellous Rachael Clifton which is a Pretty Woman inspired polka dot dream.

Both are available tomorrow from Fonott website.
